a train ride away from Rome heading for Naples and Salerno where we caught the one hour long ferry along the Amalfi coast. I was in for a surprise. Sailing along the coast of one of Italy's most famed destinations, the 31-mile stretch of beautiful blue views has graced countless photography sites stunning cliffs, pristine beaches, rolling roads, white-washed homes, it was the type of view you see only on the Bond movies and I was hooked!
Sailing down the coast we spied solitary watchtowers silhouetted against the sky on promontories overlooking the sea. For centuries these buildings formed a first bastion in a local defence system you can imagine my excitement when we discovered our accommodation was in one of these watchtowers in Positano with the Mediterranean Sea lapping at the cliffs below.
It was so much fun to capture this couple’s intimate engagement shoot in Positano. From the stunning views, to the traditional ceramic tiles in the town square, the frescoed ceilings and walls of the villas, the aquamarine Mediterranean Sea in the background and the lush gardens, this is the perfect romantic setting for an Italian destination wedding and engagement shoot. The weather cooperated completely, it was a beautiful and unforgettable day.
